Course Description

This workshop is appropriate for play therapists' of advance training.  It will begin with an overview of the central nervous system, explaining the parts of the vagal system and how they are essential in emotional regulation based on the work by Deb Dana. By helping clients identify how they experience activation in each state, play therapists can help clients identify and move in and out of states with greater control. Time will be given for participants to create their own “personal profile map” in order to gain knowledge and experience so that they can use the technique with clients. Additionally a variety of therapeutic interventions using the theory and play will be demonstrated.
